Cloisonne vase in blue enamel depicting the dance of Manchurian cranes 鹤 科 (Tsuru) surrounded by Japanese pine 松 (matsu) plants in a snowy landscape, as it really happens in nature. The polychrome enamel is held by a very fine silver wire which enhances its beauty and brilliance. The unison dance of the red-crowned cranes is a ritual that occurs together many times over the years, to strengthen their bond for life. In Japanese tradition, the beloved crane is said to live 1,000 years and symbolize longevity. "Fold a thousand cranes and the gods will fulfill your heart's desire. The Manchurian crane 鹤 科, mainly represents luck, so it is a good omen to give an object that shows his figure. It is also a suitable gift for young married couples since, due to its monogamous habits, the crane represents fidelity. Matsu 松, the pine tree, is considered a symbol of longevity, luck and steadfastness in Japanese culture. It is a common bond with virtue and long life, even immortality. Being an evergreen tree and its green color pleases at any time of the year, pines are always present in traditional Japanese gardens. The vase is in good condition. It has a small filure in the back, a slight dent on the base with slight lacks of glazes compatible with the firing and the era. Please refer to the images for more details. The lot will be carefully packed and shipped within 1 or maximum 2 working days from the day of payment. The shipping price includes delivery by UPS or DHL courier with full insurance and professional packaging. The original certificate compiled by Luca Mastromauro, Japanese art expert number 2617 registered at the Milan Chamber of Commerce, will be sent together with the lot.
