Vase, Kabin 花瓶 (Flower vessel) - Stoneware - Asano Masaru 浅野勝 (1944) - Contemporary Mashiko'yaki stoneware vase with u-shapes on a red background. - Japan - Shōwa period (1926-1989)

Fantastic grey stoneware Mashiko’yaki 益子焼 vase with carved u-shapes all across the body, on a red substrate. All the u-shapes have a small white-glazed dot in the middle. The vase is cylindrical of shape, with a rounded base and a protruding rim. Seal and label at the bottom by the artist Asano Masaru 浅野勝 (1944) . Born in the Miyagi prefecture, and set up his kiln in Mashiko in 1973. Size: Height 34. 2 cm, Diameter 20. 1 cm. Including original signed and sealed wooden tomobako 供箱 (storage box) and two leaflets in Japanese with some of his accomplishments as an artist. In an excellent condition.
