Metal is a hard, pliable and durable material. Copper is more common in the art of engraving than other metals due to its softness and ductility. On the other hand, archaeologists and art historians believe that copper is the first metal to be considered in the art of metalworking and engraving. The art of engraving is one of the traditional arts of Iran, which was classified in the category of industrial arts and metalworking. Calligraphy is a high and valuable art in the traditional culture and spiritual art of Iranians and has a special place, which with the help of the taste and thought of the Iranian artist, influenced by customs, traditions, culture and religion, in expressing the opinions and beliefs of Iranians in the most beautiful way. The metal object has been engraved and has gone through various events and developments throughout its history and has passed its permanence to the next generations. According to Hakopian, engraving is slightly different from engraving and engraving on metal, because engraving means creating lines and shapes with hammer blows on metal with sharp-edged pens or various shapes that cut parts of the work surface. And it leaves you empty and creates the desired design on the object.
