Venini vase ‘Opalino’ made of Murano glass. 29 cm in height. Signed ‘Veni 98’. In very good condition. It will be adequately packaged and shipped with registration. In apple-green. Opalino handmade blown vases have unique and striking colours and pure, essential shapes. Designed by Venini in 1932. The opaque clear glass known as lattimo was invented sometime in the 15th century in Murano in an attempt to copy porcelain that had started to arrive in Europe in bulk. Opaline glass had its golden age in the 1930s. Made by enclosing lattimo glass with one or more thin layers of transparent or coloured glass to obtain and intense, lively and colourful effect.
