A colorful pear shaped pickle caster that rests snugly in its silver plate frame. The silver plated frame has a low platform with inner circle to hold a glass jar. An attached rope twist frame extends above the jar. The circular crimped edged platform is supported by four ornate feet. At the rope handle attachments are rose arabesque attachments. The silver plate has shined up somewhat but could use re-plating. There is a round lid for the jar that has a wreath finial. The lid fits the jar snuggly. The molded glass jar has a recessed thumbnail pattern and a pleasant cranberry color. Due to limited available space, the makerÂ’s mark on the the it is partially missing. You can only see the words SILVER CO. QUADRUPLE. There is a production number of 010. Because of this, weÂ’re unable to confirm who manufactured the caster. MEASUREMENTS 9 ¼Â” (23.5 cm) tall x 4 ½Â” (11.4 cm) diameter. Weighs 14.9 oz (420 g) CONDITION There are no breaks or dents in the framework. The silver still have some shine, but is worn in places. The molded glass jar has no chips, cracks, or breaks. There are nicks to the glass on the mouth of the jar due to the metal lid being taken on and off over the years. There is wear midway on the jar. There are bubbles in the glass from manufacture. The jar had no fork, spoon or set of tongs. There is no hook for them. A colorful, intricate frame and jar to reflect rose colored light in your home. A nice addition to a collection.
