[ translate ]

Vietnamese 18th C. Bleu de Hue Porcelain Yuhuchunping Vase W/Dragon & Koi Motif (From a Vietnamese Royal Family) - This large Yuhuchunping vase is of typical form with a straight cylindrical neck and a bottom-heavy globular body on a short foot ring. The vase is elaborately decorated in a vivid blue underglaze with an ornate scene of a scrolled dragon among stylized clouds and smoke wisps around the body, as well as a koi fish leaping through the Wu Gate to become the dragon at the base along with stylized crashing waves. This piece comes from the estate of a Vietnamese Royal Family (the family now lives in the United States, and wishes to remain private as they still have relatives living in Vietnam). This is a true modern day treasure, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of Vietnamese history. This piece has excellent investment potential, as it is thought by experts around the world and avid collectors that due to the rapid modernization of Vietnam, Vietnamese antiques will within the next ten years be more valuable than Chinese antiques. According to some of the most expert collectors in the world, what used to sell for hundreds are now selling for tens of thousands. Measurements: 12.5"H x 5.5"W. PLEASE NOTE, PRE-AUCTION SALES: GWS reserves the right to sell any Lot(s) through a negotiated transaction at any time prior to the conclusion of the auction. If a Lot is sold through a negotiated transaction, it will be withdrawn from the auction. All pre-auction purchases will receive free, overnight, insured shipping.
