Vintage 14kt Diamond Engagement Ring, 1920's-1930's

[ translate ]

Vintage 14kt Diamond Engagement Ring, Estate Find, Sz. 5.5, two-tone, mostly yellow gold but white gold prongs and wheat milgrain design in the upper band. The diamond is appx. .10 ctw and in a setting that gives it a larger look. The setting is subtly scalloped with the diamond set in the center with a frame around it giving it the look of a larger diamond. The band has a wheat design on the top of the band that is 14kt white gold and similar wheat milgrain designs on the front and back of the band around about half of the ring that is also in the yellow gold. This is marked 14kt and tested and signed with what looks like a stylized maker's mark - maybe an M or maybe two people, or a butterfly - not quite sure and I could not match the mark to a maker. The ring is 1920's-1930's era. It is appx. 5 mm at the setting, the band is appx. 1. 8 mm at the top of the band and tapers down to 1mm at the back of the finger. Some expected wear given it's age but still very good condition and the designs in the setting are visible and not worn. The diamond sits higher on the finger at appx. 7.5 mm. Great engagement ring on a budget and with a history. See photos. (W.8/919.9X9. LD. 11/9/19)
