This vintage early 20th century Black Starr & Frost silver overlay decanter is beautifully decorated on crystal. This squatty crystal decanter features an applied overlay handle. This overlay is designed in a stunning Scottish thistle motif accented by scrolling ribbons. The decanter was originally produced as a trophy for an event held at the Country Club of Westchester. The decanter bears an empty shield stating only "Won by". The substantial stopper states the venue event & date. The trophy is in good to very good condition. The silver rim along the base is stamped "Black Starr & Frost Fine 999-1000 Silver 651".8" tall X 6 1/2" diameter
