[ translate ]

Vintage Sterling Polynesian Wide Cuff Bracelet, Cathay Arts Ltd, Hawaii/Hong Kong, 7.75". Weight is appx. 43.78 grams. Unisex. It is signed China and is a China Trade Era piece with jade, turquoise, coral, and multiple quarts and other stones, a total of 12 pieces. The jade is carved - age is appx. lat 1940's or shortly thereafter. It is in a silk box with ivory carved clasp signed Cathay Arts of Hawaii Ltd, Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Waikiki. Cathay Arts Ltd. is headquartered in Hong Kong and did have pieces sold at a shop at the hotel back in the day. This bracelet is very unique - one similar was found with the same skeletal design but it had dragons and no stones. This bracelet has Asian/themed people with fish and flowers repousse technique around the cuff including the large skeletal design at the center. It is 7.75" and has a little movement for sliding on the wrist and off. It is 3" at top center down the wrist and tapers down to 1.75" at the back of the wrist. It is a spectacular and unique piece. It is more like a museum piece than a bracelet. Very good condition and spectacular display sitting in the hinged silk box. (INV. W. 3720.20.22X SS990 LMV LD 4/10/20)
