Virginie LANÇON Untitled Dibon print 1/3 Charcoal print by Picto Virginie Lançon is a professional photographer, born in 1978, specializing in performance photography. She is also an artist-photographer whose nomadic artistic practice spans street photography, travel photography, fine art photography, conceptual photography, and photogravure. Her stage photographs have been featured in national and international press and have served as posters for various festivals as she has followed the tours of shows and actors such as Isabella Rossellini, Carole Bouquet, Nicolas Maury, Charles Berling, Janice Godinas, and Sonia Petrovna. One of her photographs from the play *Bérénice* was selected as the subject for the 2024 French language exam. In addition, Virginie Lançon won three awards and nineteen honorable mentions at the 2026 Black and White International Photo Award for her artistic work. One of her photographic series will soon be exhibited in New York in June 2026, and another will be published in *Jocaste*, a journal of art, essay, and psychoanalysis published by Presses du Réel. Photography remains absolutely fundamental to her, just as much and with the same passion as her work as a psychiatrist, forensic psychiatrist, and psychoanalyst. It is a natural extension of her perpetual quest to explore what, in each of us, constitutes our humanity—but also our mystery—because photography captures just a little more of ethics, poetry, the unconscious, and paradise lost.
