A vintage, possibly antique, silver enameled compact. This piece was once used for storing makeup. Precise hand painted, enamel, and hand etched designs along the from. The underside is completely covered in hand etched designs that include floral motifs. The colors of the piece are primarily cobalt blue and silver. The central painted scene depicts two women and a bard in a nature scene. The bard plays a string instrument. The piece has hinge hardware. Interior is silver with a gold wash. Interior mirror is in good condition. Interior marked: 800. Germany primarily used the 800 mark for silver, piece could possibly be German. Approx. 3 x 3 in. Total weight: 2.34 ozt.
