Volkswagen - T1 - Samba Walkthrough "Camper" 23 Window - 1973

[ translate ]

Fantastic-looking 1973 Volkswagen T1 Samba bus with a completely new, luxury Camper interior. Rare Walk-through model, Samba with 23 windows, pop-out windows and sliding roof. This original VW T1 is from Brazil and was converted there last winter from a standard van to a Camper with a wonderful new interior. It is not an original Samba but a lovely replica with all the details, such as the 23 windows, sliding roof and safari pop-out windows at the front. The two-tone combination "dark red with a black roof" looks very nice. This T1 has the well-known air-cooled 1500-cc engine with 4 cylinders. The engine runs fine and the transmission shifts properly. It has a completely new camper interior, no expense was spared. It has all you could wish for in a T1 van, including everything you need for a night’s sleep. The interior in the colour cognac has a luxurious look. A new fridge, sink (incl. water collection in cans) , fold-out table, dining table in the van itself, smart storage compartments under the benches, storage compartments in the roof, and of course the seats. The backrest can be laid flat by means of the well-known "rock 'n roll" system, creating a bed. The seats and benches are beautifully upholstered with two-tone creamy white upholstery with cognac piping, matching the rest of the van. The door panels and even new curtains have been made in the same style. Even the rims have been spray-painted in two-tone "red - black", of course with new chrome hubcaps. The van has the rare Walk-through option, enabling you to walk from the Camper area in the back to the front seats. The floor between the seats is not even like in a German Walk-through. The van has not been restored but "refurbished". The following work has been done: * wonderful new Camper interior * newly installed floor plates * bottom spray-painted with protective black coating * fenders spray-painted in black glossy paint * fenders finished with chrome trims * bodywork around the 15 windows newly painted in black colour * installed chrome license plate holders * installed double roof rack with VW logos and side ladder * new chrome VW logo at the front * installed new ignition lock This fine Camper has a Brazilian vehicle registration certificate so it can be registered almost anywhere in Europe. Please note, this T1 Samba is from Brazil. Brazilian work standards are usually not as high as European ones. Therefore, there may be parts that would fit / close better if a European workshop had done the work, or floor parts that would have been handled differently / better in Europe. However, it is also your chance to purchase a fine T1 van for half the price of a European version. Please consider the extra work that needs to be done, or adjustments to meet European requirements and your own quality standards. Of course there are issues with an (almost) 50-year-old van. The fuel gauge does not work for example. A new ignition lock has been installed, so the ignition key does not fit the door locks (original key is missing) . Brakes work, but need to be adjusted. In our opinion, the steering angle to the right is too small and the steering box has play. This is a private sale and the van is sold "as is"; warranty therefore does not apply. The van needs to be picked up within 14 days after the end of the auction.
