8vo (170x108 mm., binding). (2), 801 pp. With woodcut printer device on title. Contemporary blindtooled vellum binding, red edges, monogramm “P W V GH D R” and dated “1608", slight wear, some wormholes, boards slightly warped, lacking silk ties. Some spotting and soiling, some steam staining. Large bookplate of Peter Vok von Rosenberg [Petr Wok z Rozmberka] (1539 Cesky Krumlov -1611 Trebon), famous Bohemian statesman and collector. His library was placed after his death in Trebon (Wittingau). In 1647 it was moved by Ferdinand III to the palace in Hradschin in Prague, a year after it became a Swedish war booty when the Swedish Army entered the capital. His library was called “The white library of the red rose”.
This volume has most probably belonged to the library of queen Kristina of Sweden.
