WINCHESTER MODEL 55 LEVER ACTION RIFLE
SERIAL NUMBER 1055971 BARREL 24" CALIBER 30-30 WCF MANUFACTURED 1929. Introduced by Winchester to answer the needs of customers wanting a lightweight , takedown rifle with having to wait for special orders. The Model 55 Winchester with its tapered lightweight barrel 1/2 magazine and takedown receiver with checkered shotgun style butt was a tremendous success, however the financial crisis of the depression era took its toll with a very few being produced. CONDITION, Good with the receiver retaining 25% blue with balance flaking and turning patina. The barrel and magazine retain over 90% finish with slight edge wear. The bore is very fine and bright. The stocks are full sized and retain most of the varnish the action remains smooth and operates properly. C&R
