WRITTEN IN THE DAYS FOLLOWING THE BATTLE OF FREDERICKSBURG (CIVIL WAR.) JACKSON, THOMAS J. "STONEWALL". Autograph Letter Signed, "T.J. Jackson / Lt. Gen'l," to General Jubal Early ("General"), in pencil, reporting that reinforcements have been sent including a naval gun, ordering him to cover the gun with artillery and build any necessary fortifications, and giving the location of headquarters. On verso is written an holograph attestation signed on May 29, 1905, by General Early's assistant adjutant general John W. Daniel. 1 page, small 4to, pale blue paper; marked toning affecting nearly all text, remnants of prior mounting at corners verso, short closed separations at folds repaired verso with tissue, one line identification at upper edge recto, docketing and attestation on verso, scattered soiling, folds; matted with portrait and framed.
