Japanese WWII Type 94 military sword, the 27" bright steel blade with Japanese character markings appearing only on the blade tang (nakajo), which is covered by a wood handle with silk wrapping over ray skin, blade in very good condition without nicks, the guard is black steel, housed in light brown finish wood interior metal scabbard with no markings, the lock is present but locking button, overall: approx 39"l; 3.5lbs total **Provenance: From the estate of Ali A. Abssi (1934-2020) and Florence Hall Abssi (1919-2014), founders of the Ishtar Gate Gallery in the prestigious Houston Galleria.
