An important Brandywine artist and student of Howard Pyle, cousin of Alexander Graham Bell, William Balfour Ker (a.k.a. Balfour Ker or Balfour-Ker). His work was reproduced widely in many publications such as "Life" magazine (1904), and posters and war savings stamps for the United States Treasury.
Condition: Tear repairs seen verso of canvas, inpainting to surface seen under UV light, craquelure, surface soiling.
