** XXX-RARITY "BEVERLEY/S-A" SQUARED CIRCLE ON SCARCE "O.S." 1d VIOLET POSTAL STATIONERY CARD; 16 Dec. 1893 usage of the 1d Violet P. Stat. PC (small closed spike-hole dies not detract) to Hindmarsh (v. fine Squared Circle on reverse) redirected to Beverley with manuscript "Not known ast Mt. Norton" cancelled by the Adelaide Duplex with a very fine strike of the rare XXX-rarity "BEVERLEY/S-A" Squared Circle on the front; only a handful of examples of this rare Squared Circle are known on complete cover/card. This small P.O. was only open from 1881 to 1900. This scarce "O.S." card is hard to find used. Ex Sherwood. Sold for £260 in our June 2011 sale.
