Y Attributed to Andrew Plimer (British 1763-1837)
A lady, wearing white dress and fichu, her hair powdered
Watercolour on ivory, oval
7cm (2¾ in.) high
In a gilt metal mount, the reverse glazed to reveal a lock of hair on a white glass background
Condition Report:
There are several spots of what appears to be a light brown substance to the sitter's fichu, and a small strand of very fine black hair/fibre has become attached to one of the spots - it is likely this could be removed with a soft brush. One or two further light spots of surface dirt, otherwise the work appears to be in good condition commensurate with age. Unexamined out of glazed frame.
