In a gilt metal frame with pierced spiral cresting, the reverse glazed to reveal inscription.
Condition Report:
The blue pigment has become very prominent in the sitter's face and hair. Light surface scratches throughout, most noticeably there are two vertical scratches to the upper right quadrant, approx. 1.5 and 2cm respectively. One or two light spots of surface dirt, largely isolated to the sitter's coat. There is a very small spot of paint loss (approx. 1cm) to the left framing edge. Unexamined out of glazed frame.
The backing card with tape applied to the extreme edges, and also with some skinning. The text is smudged but still largely legible. The backing glass and mount verso is loose but stable.
The mount with some light wear and tarnishing commensurate with age. Condition Report Disclaimer
