Yan Meihua (1927-2022), originally from Zhejiang Province, was born in a literary family which cultivated his passion with literatures since he was little. Yan created comic strips and was taught by Chen Guangyi (1915-1966). He specialized in depicting subjects including martial arts (Wuxia).
