archaic Guang Vessel Lid - Bronze - China - Western Zhou (1100-771 B.C.)

ancient Lid for a chinese ritual wine vessel Guang . It is shaped in form of a dragon or beast made from bronze with decorated Taotie Mask and birds. Length 10 cm. Beautiful patina overall. An Authentic Object, not a reproduction. A similar lid is displayed at the Museum in Xian, China ( see last picture) . Provenance: The Supplier warrants that is has obtained this lot in a legal manner. Purchased by the current owner in Munich in 2004 Collected since: the lid was aquired in the 1930s in China.
