Very impressive Bizen Chawan/tea bowl by the ceramics artist Daichi Suzuki. The bowl is in flawless condition and sits very nicely in the hand. Wood stove fire with very beautiful colour shades, which tend towards a metallic tone and are very lively inside the bowl. The inside contrasts highly with the outside. A tea bowl with an attractive look and thus deeply rooted in the Wabi Sabi style. Signed with signed wooden box. Bizen ceramics from the province of Okayama is one of the 6 old kilns in Japan, the Nihon Rokkoyō, whose tradition goes back to the Kamakura period. Bizen is the oldest type of Japanese ceramic after Tokoname. It is valued by collectors above all for its earthy dark red to brown colours. Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese aesthetic concept of the perception of beauty. It stands for an aesthetic of the imperfect, distinguished by asymmetry, roughness, irregularity, and simplicity.
