Very rare commentary by Ailly on Aristotle Meteora. In this work Aristotle discusses climate, comets and earthquakes. The fourth book deals with chemical questions and also mineralogy. D'Ailly's works are influenced by the spirit of nominalism and especially by William of Ockham, Henry of Langenstein, John Gerson and Roger Bacon. His astronomical and geographical book Imago mundi (1410), compiled from various ancient and medieval writings, was one of Christopher Columbus' sources for his idea of seeking a sea route to India via the Atlantic. The lunar crater Aliacensis is named after him. - Only minimally browned. Sein astronomisches und geographisches Buch Imago mundi (1410), das aus verschiedenen antiken und mittelalterlichen Schriften zusammengestellt ist, war eine der Quellen des Christoph Kolumbus für dessen Idee, über den Atlantik einen Seeweg nach Indien zu suchen.
