Unpaginated. Half-bound in calf/ marbled paper. Gilt title to spine w blind-stamped rules and decorations. 1794/95 with 48 maps ( 2 x America 1794) all of which are hand coloured. Engraved title page, slight damage to rear which has been repaired. Horizontal crease to middle following page with slight damage again corresponding to title page. Double-page world hemisphere map w 1.5cm closed tear to internal edge LH side and split vertically and cleanly down seam from there. Double page Mercator's chart also gaping slightly down seam at bottom third and repaired verso. Cloth reinforcements, not affecting image, along verso bottom of internal edges Sweden Denmark and Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, France (x2), Spain and Portugal and Italy (x2). Also torn through wear to the bottom edge 'North East part of Italy' where plate meets paper margin. A few marks here and there but generally clean, tight and bright, an excellent copy of a very scarce item.
