All first editions with half-titles present. 17 volumes, 1839-72. Various sizes (8vo. & 12mo.). Beautifully illustrated by "Phiz" (Hablot K. Browne); with the exception of "Norcott's": illustrated by Mary Ellen Edwards & "Kilgobbin" by Luke Fildes). Uniformly bound in full golden brown crushed levant, ruled in gilt, with a shamrock design in gilt at the corners and in the compartments, t.e.g.; by Zaehnsdorf (signed), and bearing their device which denotes "exhibition quality" on the rear paste down above the tail dentelle of each volume. A beautiful set in superb condition.
