Ergänzt wird der Kartenbereich durch eine figürliche Kartusche mit maritimen Darstellungen und einen Text über die bei einem Vulkanausbruch im Jahr 1707 neu entstandene Insel Neu-Santorin. Die Landkarte entstammt einer Ausgabe von Seutters 'Atlas novus sive tabula geographicae.', verlegt in Augsburg um 1740. *** English description: A scarce and very decorative map of the island of Crete in Greece in original colours, published by Seutter around 1740. The highly detailled map is in good condition and shows the whole island as well as the town of Iraklion.
