2 volumes,original and in first class condition.Both copies are an example of the art of book binding at its best.Leather polished covers with gold trim,stamped covers.Decorative spines with titles on red leather plates on spines.Spines have been expertly replaced in leather and original leather spines reattatched,near invisible repair.The covers are mint,no marks damage or wear,books are also mint and appear as unread.Looks like they have spent the last 200 years in a private library sitting.Marbles paste downs and prelims,neat ink name on blank prelim of vol.1. only,dated 1856.No other names or stamps or markings.Books are illustrated with many original wood cuts,finely drawn and old fold out map of New Zealand.Page edges are marbled and square. 2 very rare books,near the first for New Zealand,both first editions and in fine condition.
