This engraving illustrates anAttic red figure Kalix-Krater vase that nowadays is at the Museo Nazionale in Bologna. This item belonged to the Hamilton vase collection that in great part was purchased by the British Museum in 1772. Hamilton and Hancarville drew and catalogued the entire collection before shipping it and the publication in four volumes was a success and a masterpiece of graphic art with deep influence in the neo classical taste.
