VIKING AGE IRON AXE HEAD

An iron battle axe with a wide, fan-shaped blade, tapering cheek, heavy poll and a socket. In battle, Viking axes were fearsome weapons, capable of delivering devastating blows to both armed foes and wooden shields alike. The design of the Viking axe featured a long, sturdy haft and a sharp, often bearded blade, optimized for both cutting and piercing.
