פותחן מכתבים יפני עתיק מפליז, עיטורי עוף החול וציפורים, תקופת מייג’י Antique Japanese Brass Letter Opener with Phoenix and Bird Decoration, Meiji Period פותחן מכתבים יפני עתיק, ככל הנראה מתקופת מייג’י, סוף המאה ה־19 עד ראשית המאה ה־20. עשוי פליז בעבודת מתכת עשירה, עם ידית פיסולית בדמות עוף החול ועיטורים חרוטים לאורך הלהב המתארים ציפורים, ענפים וצמחייה בסגנון יפני מסורתי. בצדו האחורי של החלק העליון עיטור במבוק וציפורים באפליקציות מתכת בגוונים שונים, ולצדן לוחית חתומה בכתב יפני. עבודה דקורטיבית ואיכותית המשלבת חריטה, תבליט ואפליקציות מתכת. החתימה טרם זוהתה בוודאות. מצב: סימני גיל ושימוש, פטינה, שחיקה, שריטות וחמצון מקומי, בהתאם לגיל הפריט ולתצלומים. Antique Japanese brass letter opener, most likely dating to the Meiji period, late 19th to early 20th century. Richly worked in metal, with a sculptural phoenix-form handle and engraved decoration along the blade depicting birds, branches and foliage in a traditional Japanese manner. The reverse of the upper section is decorated with bamboo and birds in mixed-metal applications, together with a small plaque bearing a Japanese signature. A finely decorative piece combining engraving, relief work and applied metal ornament. The signature has not been conclusively identified. Condition: age-related wear, patina, scratches and localized oxidation, consistent with age and as shown in the photographs.
