[0.875 SILVER] Gustaw Radke 1896–1908 – Warsaw – Eclectic Set of Teaspoons, Tableware, Everyday Life, Cutlery, Varsaviana
Weight: 88.3 g, dimensions: 107 mm
Gustaw Radke, a set of six silver spoons with floral decoration, Warsaw, c. 1898–1908; 0.875 silver
A set of six spoons with a uniform design, featuring elongated, oval-shaped bowls that are slightly tapered at the tips. The slender handles widen toward flat, lance-shaped ends. The decoration on the handles consists of a fan of elongated ribs, bound at the base by transverse bands, and a small bouquet of three flowering twigs tied with a bow. On the reverse side, where the handle meets the scoop, a leaf motif is featured. The design is executed in a historicist style, reminiscent of classical ribbon-and-floral decorations.
On the back of the handle is an engraved, calligraphic owner’s monogram: SB or BS.
On the reverse of the ladle, there is a rectangular signature “G. RADKE” and an oval hallmark marked “84,” corresponding to a silver fineness of 0.875, from the Warsaw Assay Office dating from 1898–1908.
Condition: as shown in the photos.
