Folio (560 mm), modern burgundy cloth; somewhat soiled but not dramatically so. Additional lithographic title. With 10 plates in original hand color and mounted on cards, very bright and crisp; some slight browing and smudging to leaves at outer margins, plates hand-numbered in pencil, title page with some smudging and a crease at lower right corner.
Ex-library copy, but with no ink stamps or perforations to mounted plates, plate leaves, or engraved second title. Sold nevertheless with all faults: shelf mark gilt-stamped at lower spine, library bookplate on front pastedown, perforated stamps at title page and final leaf of author's introduction, accession ink stamps at dedication page and title page verso. Leaves re-guarded at time of rebinding. Edges subject to brittleness.
