10th C. Persian Glazed Pottery Oil Lamp

Near East, Persia (Iran and Turkey), Nishapur area, ca. 10th to 12th century CE. A beautiful pottery oil lamp enveloped in a lustrous glaze of forest green. The lovely vessel displays an annular, raised fill hole with a lipped rim, a lengthy spout, and a petite, curled handle, all sitting upon a concave base. Size: 4.9" L x 3" W x 1.7" H (12.4 cm x 7.6 cm x 4.3 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Toluca Lake, California, USA collection
