12-panel Chinese lacquer floor screen, the front depicting deities including Jiutian Xuannü, goddess of war, The Queen Mother of the West, Lao Tzu with his ox, Shou Xing, god of longevity holding a peach, the eight Immortals, and various apsara, arriving at the palace of the Jade Emperor, amidst lotus blossoms, cranes and parasol pine trees, with a writhing dragon frame above panels depicting, bogu and auspicious animals including bats and phoenixes, the opposite side decorated with prunus, parasol pine, and birds including parrots.
Provenance: From the Estate of Dolores Venzer, Atlanta, Georgia.
