120 Colima Shell Beads & Disc Beads
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A collection of over 100 beads shaped from clams and Spondylus shell. The shells are hues of white and creamy orange and pink. Most are flat and rectangular with a hand drilled piercing through the center for suspension. The two-disc shaped beads are also made from shell and are a creamy beige and blue hue from patina and age. Size of shells: 1" L x 0.75" W (2.5 cm x 1.9 cm); smallest bead: 0.25" W (0.6 cm)
Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
