15 Greek Bronze Belt Fittings Convex Discoid Forms

Ancient Greece, ca. 7th to 5th century BCE. A fine selection of 15 bronze belt fittings of convex discoid forms, each with a series of perforations around the outermost edges. The fittings have slender rims and integral suspension loops within the concave versos, and all are covered in thick, encrusted layers of blue-green patina. Included is a coiled length of metal wire. Size of each (all are relatively similar): 1.26" Diameter (3.2 cm)

Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010

Condition Report: Some fittings have fissures between thin areas on outermost edges of rims, with heavy encrustations, and slight bending to overall forms, otherwise intact and very good. Wonderful patina throughout.
