15 PCS SCHOELCHER FRENCH EMPIRE PORCELAIN TEA SET
Hard-paste porcelain coffee set in blue and gold. Transition between neo-classical and gothic revival with design of gothic fretwork armature and neo-classical urns. Eleven cups and saucers, coffee pot, cream jug, sugar bowl and slop bowl. Marked on underside. Stencil in brown enamel around rim of base with maker's mark to a number of pieces. Slop bowl also stenciled with attribution in Swedish stating that "This service has belonged to the Marquis of Magyare."French, M.Marc Schoelcher, 2 boulevards des Italiens, Paris, c. 1810.

Condition Report: Considerable loss to gilding throughout, as pictured. Slight wear to the underside of the feet on saucers, one saucer shows a very minor old chip on the bottom foot.
