15 kt. Yellow gold - Earrings - 16.40 ct Coral
Earrings from the late 18th / early 19th century from the Ciociaria region of central Italy, in yellow gold (estimated 15 kt) with corals from Sciacca (Sicily) . Extremely fine specimen of Italian jewellery of the late 18th century, a unique place, presumably for a nursemaid, of museum quality. The gold fineness is typical for the period, since gold was not easy to come by at the time in Italy, as the country has no gold mines. The gold fineness is nevertheless high, which suggests that this item was made for prestigious clients. In excellent condition, some signs of wear but no damage, no signs of restoration, never polished, with the original patina. *The gold was tested with professional tools. The carat weight of the stones has been measured with a professional gauge, without dismantling the piece of jewellery, so it must be considered approximate.
