15/16C (or earlier) Standing Bronze Burmese Arakan Buddha.-Rare Royal Arakan Type. In all my years of collecting, This may be the first of this type I have managed to acquire. It has a strong influence from the pagan Era, which was a bit earlier. His face shows real character- has Mon or late Pyu features distinctive eyes and an overall Child-like face. I'm not sure if he was buried for a significant. Of time or how he came by his strong patina. Someone removed part of the patina in places so that you could see the fine detail underneath. I believe based on other bronzes I have owned that with care the rest or most of the thick patina could be removed though I cannot guarantee this. Height can be seen in the photo with a ruler.
