A beautifully printed and richly illustrated hagiographic account of the life of St. Nicolas of Tolentino (c.1245-1305).
All the illustrations, except for four woodcuts in the usual technique, are executed in imitation of the "scagraffio" style of early Florentine book illustration.
The subjects include St. Nicolas praying, the miracles of the roses, of the spring and of the water made into wine, the apparition of the Virgin and of the angels,
the death of the saint and the miracle of his body, etc.
