16 Cast Metal Door Escutcheons

An assortment of 16 architectural door backplates in various cast metals, including brass and copper-flashed metal. The collection features a variety of late 19th-century styles, including Art Nouveau, Eastlake, and Neoclassical designs. The lot includes seven matching oval escutcheons with beaded borders, six of which have a copper-flashed finish and one with a brass-toned surface. A single large ornate plate is decorated in the Art Nouveau style with foliate scrolls, floral motifs, and a shell-form finial. One rectangular plate displays geometric Eastlake-style relief and stylized floral elements. Other items include an oval plate with acanthus leaf finials at the top and bottom, two small rectangular plates with scrolling foliate patterns, one large shaped plate with a worn orange-brown painted surface, and one rectangular plate with remnants of white paint over a relief pattern. Two plain utility plates, one oval and one rectangular, complete the set. Visual inspection of the front surfaces across all provided images reveals no legible printed, impressed, or otherwise applied maker's marks, signatures, or characters. Length of beaded oval plates: approximately 7 inches.
