19 pcs coin and early sterling silver, most Tennessee. 1st item: Coffee or Teaspoon marked E WELBORN in rectangle for Enoch Welborn, working Gallatin, Tennessee c. 1820, Nashville 1823-47, and Memphis, c. 1853. 2nd and 3rd items: 2 tablespoons marked W.H. CALHOUN / NASHVILLE (incuse) for William Henry Calhoun, working Nashville, 1835-d. 1865. 4th item: Tablespoon marked MERRIMAN and MEMPHIS in separate rectangles for James Merriman, working Memphis 1841-1860. 5th item: Tablespoon marked F.H. CLARK & CO. and MEMPHIS in separate rectangles for Frederick Henry Clark, working Memphis from 1841-1866. 6th item: Tablespoon marked C. A. BURR in rectangle for Christopher Burr, working Providence, RI c. 1800. 7th item: Teaspoon marked SELPH & PYLE in rectangle for John Selph and Benjamin Pyle II, working Fayetteville, North Carolina, 1837-1838. 8th-10th items: 3 Dessert spoons with marks for Wood and Hughes of New York and retailer George Reid Calhoun of Nashville (working 1847-d. 1903). 11th-13th items: 2 teaspoons and 1 salt spoon, each marked MERRIMAN in rectangle. 14th-15th items: 2 teaspoons marked F.H. CLARK & CO., each marked in rectangle. 16th item: sugar spoon with partially rubbed incuse retailer mark ____ Seymour, stamped PREMIUM in rectangle with pseudohallmarks. Combined weight, items 1-16: 14.84 oz troy. Also included are 3 Gorham sterling teaspoons in a fitted silk lined box with gilt lettering for retailer C.L. Byrd & Co., Memphis. Weight of sterling teaspoons: 1.55 oz troy. Sizes range from 3 5/8" for Merriman salt spoon to 9" for Calhoun Tablespoons.
Condition Report: Some dents and wear to bowls of most spoons, overall good condition. Various monograms. 1 Merriman teaspoon has tears at either side of bowl. Fitted Byrd box has some tears to silk lining and originally included 3 more spoons.
