Outstanding 163 pc. set of Gorham "Versailles" pattern sterling silver flatware designed in 1888 by Florentin Antoine Heller (1839-1904) having unusual vermeil gold wash finish, ornate rococo motifs and figural cherub handles, cartouche on reverse bearing cursive script initials "LEJ" for Admiral Louis Maurice and Edyth (Guggenheim) Josephthal, daughter of Isaac Guggenheim, mother of Audrey Josephthal Love, and grandmother of archaeologist Iris Cornelia Love, consisting of 14 dinner forks, 13 luncheon forks, 12 dessert forks, 12 seafood forks, 6 tablespoons, 12 teaspoons, 10 demitasse spoons, 12 bouillon soup spoons, 12 sabre form blade fish slices, 12 butter spreaders, 12 dinner knives with plated blades, 12 luncheon knives with plated blades, 6 steak knives with stainless steel blades, 12 fruit knives with plated blades, lg. fish serving slice, pastry server, 2 sauce ladles, 2 lemon forks, 173.2 troy oz. -some wear to plating on dinner knife blades, otherwise good overall condition.
