Terence was a 2nd-century BC Roman playwright who is most remembered for his comedies. His six plays, which all survive, were composed after he was freed from slavery. His plays were composed in simple Latin and were popular during the Middle Ages, despite having prevalent themes of paganism throughout.

This edition, edited by Daniel Heinsius, was published in 1651 and includes the six main comedies of Terence with annotations by Thomas Farnaby
