Illustrated with detailed allegorical engraved frontispiece by J. Lamsvelt depicting a shipyard and 24 engraved plates of which one folding and 6 double-page showing different types of ships and navigation devices.
Among the most interesting plates are the 5 folding sheets of flags - 72 in all.
Numerous woodcuts in-text.
Title in red & black.
Later half black cloth, marbled paper on covers, spine with 5 raised bands (used binding, corners rubbed , joints starting to split.
