Folio. Volume I: Front page signed by Poilly + Cover + 4 h. + 8 p. + 1 h. + 140 p. + XXVI p. Volume II: engraved front cover + 1327 engravings distributed four by four per page, except the last 3 which are full plate + 4 h. manuscripts with an index. Some old marginal ink notation. Enc. in full skin, golden wheels, edges and eyebrows, nerves, curdled lomera, double tejuelo, presented in a cloth flask. Jacques Barrelier was a prominent physician and botanist of the 17th century. During his long stay in Rome he founded a botanical garden and gathered a botanical collection that he studied and drew. He died before he could complete his work, and an unfortunate incentive destroyed all his notes, only the plates survived. It was Antonio de Jussieu who compiled the work and brought it to light in this volume. Palau 24657. Brunet I, col. 667 [5046].
