The Historical Register, Containing An Impartial Relation of all Transactions, Foreign and Domestick with a Chronological Diary…, printed at London by H.M. and sold by T, Norris (1721-2). Collates complete per ESTC citation T154298: Title [2], 324, 317-348, [6], 44. This volume noted for what is considered the most detailed account of pirates to appear in a periodical (pages 246-256) including the exploits of Bartholomew Roberts better known as Black Bart. The section on pirates is followed by reports of encounter with a sea monster. Internally Fine, the binding is defective with the book block broken at page 173 and the boards detached, original leather. Measures 5 x 8 inches.
