Francesco Baldovini was a 17th-century Italian poet who is most remembered for his best work ‘The Lament of Cecco da Varlungo’. This poem was first written in 1694 and includes themes of eroticism, pastoral and rustic life, and reminiscences of 15th-century burlesque customs. This 1762 edition was based on the 1755 Florentine edition; however, it includes 25 additional stanzas that do not appear in the original. It also includes notes by Orazio Marrini.
