1769 Needlecraft Portrait of the Pope or Bishop
This framed needlecraft portrait of a religious Christian figure (Pope?) shows the bearded man in a mitre and holding a crosier, and wearing a cross and mozzetta (cape) over a cassock. He is in a landscape and he appears to be bestowing a blessing. The needlecraft is crewel work. It measures 7.5" tall x 6" across. On the reverse is a dust paper with the date 1769 in Roman numerals at the bottom, and the name Alberto Van Haller, and a list of the famous scientist's accolades in Latin.
Condition Report: As found condition, I’m assuming that some of the original colors have faded with time
